I've been scouting for izakaya in Jakarta, and was always ended up unsatisfied until I went to Sumi to kome. The Chef put extra effort and attention to every detail in preparing the foods. The interior of the restaurant is very classy and cozy. Good lighting and layout, open kitchen on the left and bar on the right. And when I said open kitchen, I really meant, you can see every preparation n cooking, not like those restaurants with rectangular opening to a kitchen. So if you're a foodie you will definitely appreciate and enjoy watching the kitchen dynamics here. All the other 'famous' Japanese joints you see around are mostly serving a Japanese food interpretation with Indonesian/ western style. This restaurant has the most authentic yet modern way of cooking. The menu is very well put, with an extensive but not overwhelming selection of meat and seafood dishes. The price is very reasonable as well, especially with the quality of food they're serving. If you're looking to have great foods and conversations with your friends, without commercial spotify music or those live bands blasting out loud in the background, this is the perfect place for it.Making a booking before coming here is recommended.I'm honestly still in awe, will always come back here.

This is my #1 favorite Japanese restaurant in Indonesia. The staff were incredibly attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself was pretty cool, unassuming from the outside, to the point where I wasn’t sure if the cargo container was actually the place. But it was, and the interior was just as impressive as the food!

This place is a hidden gem that’s as tricky to find as it is charming. Once inside, you’re greeted by a spacious restaurant with high ceilings that instantly impresses. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent. The oysters, in particular, are fresh and creamy, and are directly imported from Japan. Overall, this Japanese restaurant scores highly for both its flavors and ambiance.

This place is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. The unique menu, combined with the warm, intimate ambience, makes it an ideal spot for a night out with friends. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply catching up over good food, this place will leave you with lasting memories. The indoor lighting is a big deal for the place without an outside view, you are pushed to appreciate the conversation.

Sumi To Kome: Hidden Gem in Blok M Parking LotSumi To Kome is a delightful surprise tucked away in an unassuming spot within the Blok M parking lot. While its temporary building might be a deterrent, the restaurant's interior, though a bit dark, creates a cozy atmosphere. The real star of the show is the food. Each dish is a visual masterpiece, showcasing the chef's artistry and attention to detail. The menu boasts a wide variety of options, ensuring there's something to tantalize every palate. To top it off, the impeccable service makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. While the ambiance might not be its strong suit, Sumi To Kome undoubtedly shines in terms of food

Sumi to Kome offers a superb dining atmosphere, blending warm aesthetics with an inviting ambiance. The food is excellent, with authentic flavors that truly stand out, though the portions could be slightly more generous. Service was decent, though not all staff seemed equally knowledgeable. A highlight of the meal was the Nabe—don’t miss the option to turn the leftover broth into a delicious porridge at the end! Overall, this could easily become one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in Jakarta.
